Poco M2 Pro launch in India, A Rebranded Version?

Poco M2 pro launch in India, the rebranded variant of Redmi Note 9 Pro. Poco and Redmi both the brands come under Xiaomi, recently the Poco X2 launch in India and it was a rebranded version of Redmi K30, and Poco F2 also a rebranded version of Redmi K30 pro. For saying Poco is an independent brand but they are playing the same game of rebranding their existing devices and launching in different markets with different names. Now the company has launched the Poco M2 Pro in India, and as we expect, it is also a rebranded variant of Redmi Note 9 Pro which was launched 2 months back. I don’t understand the logic behind launching the same devices in the same country with just a change in brand names.

In 2018 Poco launch its first device, Poco F1 and it was very popular at that time, the phone comes with flagship-level specifications at a competitive price, and the main thing, it was not a rebranded version. Poco brand came into existent with Poco F1, people loved the device and also recognizing the brand. But in 2020 the story is all about just rebranding and nothing new

As we know, Poco M2 pro is a rebranded variant of Redmi note 9 Pro and packs with the same features, like the snapdragon 720G processor, quad-camera setup, IPS LCD screen, a large 5000mah battery. The only difference is in the charging speed, POCO M2 pro supports 30W fast charging, whereas the Redmi note 9 pro supports 18W charging

Pricing and availability

The Poco M2 Pro cost in India at Rs.13,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while its 6GB RAM + 64GB storage option costs at Rs.14,999 and the top-of-the-line, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs of Rs. 16,999. The phone available in three color options – Out of the Blue, Green, and Greener, and Two Shades of Black. Moreover, it will be available for buy in India through Flipkart, and its first sale is scheduled for July 14 at 12 pm (noon).

Poco M2 Pro Specifications

Poco M2 pro features a 6.67 inches IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and the display comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display supports HDR 10 and the phone is built of glass with a plastic frame. The front and back glass is protected by corning gorilla glass 5. It comes with a peak brightness of 450nits. Poco M2 Pro runs on Android 10 out of the box and topped with MIUI 11

Under the hood, it packs with a snapdragon 720G processor, coupled with 4GB Ram and 64GB UFS2.1 internal storage. You can also expand the storage via a macro SD card slot. It comes with a massive 5000mah battery, that supports 30W fast charging.

Talking about the cameras, the rear packs with quad-camera setup, the main 48MP sensor with the aperture of f1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front side, there a single punch hole at the top center of the display, housing a 16MP selfie shooter.

On the connectivity front, the phone packs with Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, and the fingerprint scanner is situated at the side. That’s it for the Poco M2 pro
