Indian Govt. made a statement to ban 59 Chinese Apps in India, there were some of the popular Apps like, TikTok, SHAREit, UC Browser, Helo, Clash of Kings, etc, on Monday evening, it said these Chinese Apps were engaging in the activities that threatened the national security of India, Which ultimately imposes on the sovereignty and integrity of India. This step will affect huge economic backlash against china.
On 15 June, a crash happened between Indian and Chinese soldiers on the Ladhak, in that clash 20 Indian soldiers were died. Maybe this will be the answer to that clash to Chinese Govt. According to the intelligence these apps were violating the terms of usage, user’s privacy is used as malware and spyware.
These Apps are hugely popular in India especially TikTok with over 2 Billion downloads in India, and 611 Million Active Users. UC Browser which owned by Alibaba Group with 130 million active users in 2018 and capture13% market share in India (2nd to Chrome at 75%), SHAREIt: 3rd most active app in India after WhatsApp and Facebook, following club factory, CM browser, and ES File Explorer.
It also includes Cam Scanner and a very popular chatting app WeChat owned by Tencent. It also bans India’s biggest smartphone seller, Xiaomi’s MI community App.
India is very huge, in terms of population and internet users, the will be the first time any country banned dozens of Apps in a single go.
